High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred) 

Must have a minimum of two (2) years in a physician office or clinic - experience must be within the past three (3) years (required) 

• Proficiency with computers, including EMR software (required)

Answer incoming calls to triage and schedule appointments or take complete and accurate messages. 

• Make outgoing calls to reschedule appointments as needed or to remind patients of appointment times and required information (e.g., insurance cards). 

Check patients out after appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments as requested. Ensure timely completion of related follow-up work (same day or by the next day), 

including relaying messages to clinical staff for return calls. 

Use insurance contract lists and service protocols to determine the most appropriate approach to scheduling patients. 

Contact patients who missed appointments to reschedule. 

Other duties as assigned. Position does cross train the Reception position.

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program required: Required

Assist with procedures and sterile set-up

• Daily instrument care and sterilization

• Run schedules for the providers for the next day, review planned procedures, print patient insurance information, prep pathology slips, bottles and procedure trays accordingly.

• Draw-up Lidocaine syringes

• Assist with procedures or minor surgeries as needed

• Clean autoclave weekly;

• Deep clean autoclave monthly

• Accurately records vital signs, reconciles patients’ medications, allergies and current problem list

• Document needed prescription refills and/or other vital clinical information. Handle pharmacy calls

• Give injections

• Schedule patients (post-visit)

Responsibilities:

- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling billing and insurance claims.

- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.

- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments.

- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.

- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.

- Provide patient education on various health topics.
